This was a perfect rustic cabin on the lake. The property was beautiful and it was great being able to have a spot on the dock for our boat. It was a very hot week, so we were thankful that this cabin had window AC units in both bedrooms, and lots of fans to keep us cool. Molly was a wonderful host, very friendly and super responsive to any questions we had.

Our family of 5 was extremely comfortable at Knotty Pine cabin. It was exactly as described and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We had fun using the kayaks and the kids were super excited to see the swimming platform with slide. Addy was very responsive and kind. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful, cozy cabin on lake. Enjoyed watching the eagle pair throughout the weekend. Even though the weather was not conducive to outdoor activities (cold, rainy and really windy) we were warm and comfy in the cabin and had a great time.

My second time renting from Emily, won't be my last. Easily the most beautiful short term rental I've seen. Surrounded by water on three sides, excellent place to relax, get centered and harness the fresh perspective a true vacation can offer. Highest recommendation. Thanks again Emily

The Deer Lake Apt was very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed taking our boat out on the lake. The host was very accommodating and friendly. So nice to find dog friendly places to stay. Our dogs were very happy and content there.

We had a great anniversary weekend with our pup at Brandon's cabin on Long Lake. The co-host Liz was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The cabin was clean, and had all the necessities for cooking/grilling. The little beach was perfect for our pup to play and for us to wade in, and they had a canoe available as well. The lake was very quite and peaceful. Lots of yard furniture and games to enjoy the natural, still, beauty of the Northwoods. We also spent a day driving to the Northshore and exploring the beautiful state parks! Even though there is no running water in the cabin, there is a water cooler inside for drinking water, they provide solar bags for showers, and there's a big tank of water out back for washing dishes. They also have the CLEANEST, least smelly, outhouse I've ever used. The cell reception wasn't the best - we have Verizon - so that's something to plan for if you need to stay in touch as there is no wifi. Liz said that AT&T is much better in the area.

Buckhorn is beautiful. This was our second time staying and we had a great time, as we hoped! We will absolutely be coming back regularly as a family!!! thanks Peg!

Overall, we had a nice stay. There were a few hiccups at the beginning with missing supplies and some things not clean, but Emily was very responsive and reimbursed the cleaning fee. We loved that they were just as “crunchy” as we are at home! They provide glass and stainless steel cookware and clean ingredient bathroom products. You can tell Emily is very conscientious of the products she provides her guests. We also enjoyed the sauna! We definitely recommend this beautiful getaway.

Excellent place to stay and beautiful area. I would highly recommend this place and will rent again! Katherine went above and beyond as a host and I have never rented from someone that was so kind and helpful. Highly recommend. The house is large, clean and comfy! Very beautiful place.

A perfect place for our family of 5 and my parents to spend a long weekend. The beach area was great for the kids, and they enjoyed tubing behind the pontoon. Christine was a great host and even let us borrow her lilly pad for the kids to play on. The beds were super comfy and we had everything we needed as far as amenities. We’ll be back next summer for sure!

The property is absolutely gorgeous! The lake is pristine and we spent a lot of time on the beautiful dock and in the surrounding woods. We loved using the sauna as the weather was a bit cooler during our stay. We thought the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of space for our family of six. We thought a few things could use some updating. We wished there had been a larger TV upstairs so that we could all comfortably watch movies or sports in the family room. Also, the basement shower did not have adequate water flow and so we all ended up using the upstairs shower. Ultimately, these weren’t dealbreakers for us because our primary purpose was to spend our time outdoors. If you are looking for a true north woods getaway, this will hit the mark.

Wow, this place is so wonderful! We loved the experience of being on our own private island! .. haha there are other buildings on Birch Island, but no one else was there during our stay. The tiny home is so cozy and exactly what we needed. We left feeling so nourished and rejuvented. Thank you, Breanna! 💓

The lake house had plenty of room for our family, and the lake access was great. Lake Pokegama is a great lake to explore. We brought our pontoon and kayaks, and we were able to enjoy both of them. We also enjoyed the grassy yard, the outside deck, and the small strip of beach at the edge of the lake. The kitchen was well-stocked and the bathrooms had everything we needed. The bedrooms were all really nice, too, and everything was very clean. It was a great place to spend a week at the lake.

Great place on the lake! There was plenty of space for our family and we particularly enjoyed sitting outside on the patio and floating in the lake during the day. We rented a pontoon one afternoon, which I highly recommend! We played pickleball a few times at the YMCA and brought up our bikes to enjoy the Mesabi bike trail. There is so much to do in the area! Bring bug spray if you plan to be outside at dusk. The house was clean and well-equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought we’d use the sauna but honestly it looks more appealing in photos than in real life. We appreciated the bottle of wine and s’mores kit left by the host. Note, there is a small chore list to take care of when you leave. Can’t wait to visit Grand Rapids again!

Our second time at birchwood landing was just as wonderful as the first! As usual, Erin and Jared were a pleasure to work with. The place is perfect for relaxing and enjoying quality family time. And it’s stocked with everything you need. The wendigo arm of Pokegama lake never feels too busy, even during a summer weekend. We highly recommend birchwood landing and hope to stay here again.
